The valley of Ourika is particularly green throughout the year.
This part of the High Atlas is exceptionally beautiful and affords great views across mountains and lush valleys, with adobe Berber villages, rivers and woodlands.
Day 1: Imlil – Tizi n’Tamatert – Ouanesekra
Depart from Imlil and head towards the valley of Tacheddirt passing by Tizi n’Tamatert (2,279m) to arrive at the village of Ouanesekra in the valley of Tacheddirt where we spend the night in a Berber gîte or bivouac (About 5 hours’ walk).
Day 2: Tachdirth – Tizi n’Ibbasen – Ibbasen – Timichchi
Depart Tachdirth towards Timichi passing by the Tizi n’ Ibbasen (3,172m). After the col we then descent pass the villages of Ibbasen and Timichchi. We spend the night in a bivouac or Berber gîte (About 6 to 7 hours’ walk).
Day 3: Timichchi – Chiker – Agadir n’Ait Boulmane- Setti Fatma
Depart Timichchi towards Setti Fatma. All along the journey there are Berber villages in the valley including Tiourdou, Anfli, Tadrart and Chiker. After lunch we continue via Agadir n’Aït Boulmane and on to the centre of Setti Fatma. Then return to Marrakech or visit the waterfall at Setti Fatma if there is time (About 4 to 5 hours’ walk).
